I was facing knee surgery when my doctor informed me that she was concerned about how my heart would handle anesthesia.
She ordered a cardiac SPECT scan, and my husband and I were very alarmed to hear that I might need a heart catheterization to open a blockage. Due to my young age and some uncertainty of the diagnosis, my doctor recommended a cardiac PET. I'm so glad I had the second test. We foundout that an invasive heart procedure was not necessary and I was able to undergo my knee surgery as scheduled.
