Cardiac PET Viability

What is Cardiac PET Viability?

Cardiac PET viability imaging is a tool physicians use to evaluate areas of the heart that has been impacted by restricted or blocked blood flow.   Physicians use the results of this scan to determine the presence and/or extent of heart muscle that is viable or "alive" and which will function properly once blood flow is restored to that area of the heart.
